Merry Mobile Holiday Season! How will consumers be celebrating this year?
As part of the 2012 ForeSee Mobile Satisfaction Index: Retail Edition, we asked more than 4,500 shoppers how they plan to use their mobile devices for holiday shopping. Here’s what they had to say:
- 39% think they will use mobile sites and apps more this year than last to research products.
- 26% will use mobile more to comparison shop while in retail stores.
- 21% plan to use mobile more to purchase products this holiday season.
- 18% will use them more to locate stores.
About 42% said they will use mobile about the same as they did last year, 4% said they would use mobile less than they did last year, and 9% were undecided, giving retailers plenty of room to change some minds. Retailers can easily do so by providing exceptional mobile experiences that meet the needs, wants, and expectations of those consumers looking for a reason to shop by mobile device.
In his post, Gearing up for the Holidays, Part 1, Larry Freed talks about the three areas retailers need to focus on this year – mobile being one of them.
